Established in 1915, the Santa Margarita Cemetery District has served generations of families in Santa Margarita, Garden Farms, La Panza, and surrounding areas. We are committed to providing respectful interment services, maintaining the historic grounds entrusted to our care, and preserving a place of remembrance for our community.

It is the mission of the Santa Margarita Cemetery District to provide compassionate, professional service and continuity to families during difficult times.

We provide a range of burial and administrative services to families in our district, including: Interments, Grave Plot Sales, Records and burial location, Administrative support.

Grand Jury Report and Response
The Grand Jury released its report that looked at a number of issues regarding the District. Overall, the District is making good progress on the Grand Jury’s findings and recommendations. Below is a copy of the District’s Reponse which was approved on July 7, 2026 on a 3-0 vote of the Board.
